Human Hair Care Instructions
Cleaning:
1. Detangling: Gently remove tangles before shampooing.
2. Shampoo Selection: Always opt for a mild shampoo.
3. Shampooing Process:
- Wet the hair with warm water.
- Apply a small amount of shampoo to your fingers and work it into the hair.
- Stroke downwards, from the wig cap to the ends, avoiding twisting or scrubbing.
4. Rinse: Thoroughly rinse under warm running water ensuring all shampoo is removed.
Conditioning:
1. Conditioner Application: Place a small amount of conditioner in your hand and work it into the hair.
2. Conditioner Duration: Let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes.
3. Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly in warm water.
4. Drying & Detangling:
- Gently towel blot to remove excess water.
- While wet, comb the hair gently to detangle using a large-toothed comb. Move from the wig cap downward.
5. Drying Methods: Hang to air dry, set in rollers, or use a blow dryer on a low setting as desired.
Styling:
1. Curling: Steam rollers or wet setting are the safest methods.
2. Thermal Tools: Use blow dryers, curling irons, etc., on low settings. Avoid high heat to prevent scorching.
Please note: Consult a professional stylist for cutting or chemical processes. First-time styling is free with a wig purchase from GT Hair Boutique. Subsequent styling will be charged at our standard wig styling rate.
Synthetic Hair Care Instructions
Cleaning:
1. Shampoo: Opt for a wig shampoo formulated especially for synthetic wigs.
2. Cleaning Process: Mix cold water with a little shampoo in a basin and soak the wig gently for 5 minutes.
3. Rinsing: Gently rinse in cold water until all shampoo is removed.
4. Drying: Place your wig on a stand to air dry or proceed with the conditioning steps below.
Conditioning:
1. Conditioner Application: Use a small amount of wig conditioner.
2. Conditioner Duration: Let the wig absorb conditioner for 2 minutes.
3. Rinsing: Rinse gently in cold water until all conditioner is gone. Gently pat out excess water with a towel.
4. Drying: Set your wig on a stand for air drying.
Please note: Protect synthetic wigs from heat damage. Avoid hair dryers, curling irons, and other heat sources like stoves, ovens, barbecues, and lighters.
Wearing Suggestions
Hair Products: Avoid traditional hair sprays and tonics. These can leave residues and damage the rooting system. Only use products specifically designed for wigs and hairpieces.
Swimming: While you can swim with your hairpiece, remember to rinse it post-swimming. Chlorine and salt can cause bleaching and brittleness.
Sunlight: Limit exposure to sunlight as it can fade all hair.
Sleeping: Avoid sleeping with your hairpiece regularly. This can reduce its lifespan.
Off-the-Head Care: Store your hairpiece on a Styrofoam head block. Make sure the hair hangs naturally inwards and never let it rest upside-down on hard surfaces.
